In this lesson, we will learn about famous people who lived in the past!

William Shakespeare & Aristophanes: We will find interesting information about the most famous English writer, William Shakespeare, and the famous Globe Theatre in London. We will also talk about Aristophanes, the great Athenian comedy writer of the 5th century BC, and compare the Globe Theatre to the ancient Greek Theatre of Epidaurus!

El Greco (Doménikos Theotokópoulos): We will read about the iconic painter from Crete (1541–1614) who became famous in Spain during the Renaissance. Did you know that "El Greco" means "The Greek" in Spanish?

Famous Greek Personalities: We will also meet other famous people from Greek history and culture, such as Aliki Vougiouklaki, Aristotle Onassis, Eleftherios Venizelos, Manos Hatzidakis, and Melina Mercouri!

Θα ανακαλύψουμε τον William Shakespeare (και το θέατρο Globe στο Λονδίνο) και θα τον συγκρίνουμε με τον Αθηναίο κωμωδιογράφο Αριστοφάνη και το Αρχαίο Θέατρο της Επιδαύρου.

Θα διαβάσουμε για τον μεγάλο Κρητικό ζωγράφο Δομήνικο Θεοτοκόπουλο (El Greco).
