Μάθημα : ΑΓΓΛΙΚΑ Α ΤΑΞΗ (1)

Στόχοι του μαθήματος:

Να προβληματιστούν οι  μαθητές σχετικά με το πρόβλημα της εξαφάνισης των ζώων και να αναζητήσουν λύσεις.

Να αξιοποιήσουν το υλικό που τους παρέχετε σε αυτήν την ενότητα και στην αντίστοιχη ενότητα του βιβλίου τους (Αγγλικά Α΄ Λυκείου, Ενότητα 5) για να συγγράψουν έκθεση όπου θα εκθέτουν τις απόψεις τους σχετικά με τον τρόπο αντιμετώπισης του φαινομένου της ραγδαίας εξαφάνισης πολλών ειδών ζώων.

Να εξοικειωθούν με τα google docs και την εφαρμογή padlet και να αναστοχαστούν σχετικά με την προστιθέμενη αξία τους στο πλαίσιο της διδακτικής πράξης.

Να αναπτύξουν μεταγνωσιακές δεξιότητες.

Να αναπτύξουν ικανότητες αξιολόγησης (αξιολόγηση από ομοτίμους).

• Every living organism has a functional value in the ecosystem (especially in the food chain) even if it is not apparent to humans.
• Moral obligation to preserve the natural world for future generations.
• Biodiversity (βιοποικιλότητα).
• Medicinal value (φαρμακευτική αξία).

2. What can we do to protect endangered species?

• Protect their habitat
• Reduce, reuse and recycle. Avoid using chemicals or plastic products that harm the environment
• Reduce your carbon footprint. Less CO2 means less global warming. Climate change is threatening wildlife habitats.
• Stop water pollution. Water pollution is killing animals in seas, lakes and rivers.
• Impose heavy fines or imprisonment on poachers.
• Never purchase products made from threatened species.
• Do not destroy habitats to build holiday resorts and hotels. Promote ecotourism.
  
• Educate ourselves and learn more
• Inform others.

You have had a class discussion about wildlife species in danger of extinction. Your teacher has asked you to write an essay (120-150 words) for the school magazine to support your opinion about how we can protect endangered animals. Write about:

• pollution (e.g. not use plastic-it ends up in oceans, not waste energy/reduce our carbon footprint, less CO2 means less global warming. Climate change is threatening habitats. Water pollution is killing animals in sea, lakes, rivers, deforestation, etc.)
• hunting wild animals (heavy fines should be imposed on poachers. Not buy goods made from endangered species, etc.)
• your own ideas (e.g. should not destroy their habitats to build cities or hotels/resorts, etc., eco-tourism instead)

MODEL ESSAY:

You have had a class discussion about rubbish on the streets. Write an essay for your teacher suggesting ways that we can help to fight this problem and mentioning the possible results (150-180 words).

Nowadays, rubbish on the streets is a serious problem in many cities and towns. This is because many people are too careless or lazy to dispose of it responsibly. However, there are several solutions to the problem.

Firstly, we should try to recycle more. This way, we will reduce our rubbish and the streets will be much cleaner and tidier.

Moreover, we could pick up rubbish lying on the streets instead of ignoring it. By doing this, we set a good example for others and they will hopefully learn to do the same.

Another solution would be to create a local group for picking up rubbish in our neighbourhood. As a result, neighbourhoods would be kept in better condition.

To sum up, it is true that street rubbish is a problem in many areas. Nevertheless, I believe that if we all work together responsibly, we can make our neighbourhoods cleaner, better places to live in.
