In this session, students will present their Genial.ly projects, evaluate their peers' work using a structured format, and engage in discussions that connect EU environmental policies to their everyday lives.
They will also complete a final written reflection and a short quiz.

Learning Goals

By the end of this session, students should be able to:

  • Present their research findings clearly and engagingly.
  • Practice giving and receiving constructive feedback.
  • Reflect on how EU policies support well-being and sustainability in real life.
  • Express their opinions in both written and oral form.

Steps to Implement

Activity 1: Student Presentations

Each student or group will present their Genial.ly project.
Presentations should:

  • Stay within the 10-minute time limit.
  • Include:
    • Key facts about the policy
    • Its impact on EU countries
    • Challenges and solutions
    • Future developments
    • A short video or infographic
    • Properly cited sources (bibliography)

Encourage students to speak, maintain audience engagement, and use their visuals effectively.

Students will use the Peer Evaluation Form (Worksheet 4) to reflect on each presentation.
For each project, they should:

  • Note something that stood out to them.
  • Ask a thoughtful question about the topic.
  • Share what they found interesting or surprising.
  • Connect the topic to prior knowledge or experiences.
  • Mention something they would like to learn more about.
  • Offer a kind and constructive suggestion for improvement.

Tip: Remind students that the goal is to support each other’s growth as researchers and speakers.

Activity 3: Reflection and Discussion

At Home (Flipped Learning):
Before the session, assign students to review selected videos and case studies related to EU environmental policies.

In Class:
Lead a guided discussion focusing on the real-world impact of policies, using these case studies:

Use the following prompts to guide the conversation:

  • How do these examples show the impact of policy on everyday life?
  • What role do citizens play in making these policies work?
  • What actions could we take in our school or community to promote sustainability?

Encourage open, respectful discussion and critical thinking.

Activity 4: Final Reflection and Quiz

Students will complete Worksheet 5, which includes:

  • A 3-question quiz testing their understanding of EU policies.
  • A short essay (200–250 words) responding to the prompt:
"The Role of EU Environmental Policies in Promoting Well-Being"
They should use examples from today’s presentations or the case studies.

Dissemination

Selected student presentations will be shared on the school website and showcased within the school community to celebrate their efforts and ideas.

Encourage students to take pride in their work and recognize the impact of their voice in promoting environmental awareness!
