In this lesson you're going to find out more about Guy Fawkes and the gunpowder plot. The Gunpowder Conspiracy of 1605 was plotted by a group of Catholics led by Guy Fawkes. Their plan was to kill King James I of England, his family and many members of the aristocracy, by blowing up the buildings of the British Parliament in London at the opening of Parliament on 5 November 1605.
