In the fifth lesson you are going to explore everyday life in Ancient Greece.

1) First fill in the crossword puzzle (Mythical characters). Click on the row or column and enter your answer. Write only in lower case (first names too). Send me a screenshot of the completed crossword puzzle.

If you need to clear the crossword puzzle (e.g. because of a mistake) click on the puzzle as shown in the screenshot:

2) Then do the following exercise on Conditionals. Click on the link  and write your answers on the page. Click on Check to check them. If they are correct, they will show in bold lettering. Send me a screenshot of the completed exercise.

3) Open the link Everyday life in Ancient Greece in a new tab:

http://aesop.iep.edu.gr/node/8742/2239

The opening page contains information and exercises about everyday life in Ancient Greece. The link is taken from a teaching scenario from the Aesop repository.

Do all the exercises by giving the answers on the page you are already on (http://aesop.iep.edu.gr/node/8742/2239). Send me a screenshot of your answers by mail (izafeiriou@sch.gr) or in a message on the e-class platform.

For your convenience, I will explain here what you need to do in each exercise:

1) What’s in a pot? Everyday life in Ancient Greece.

Read the information carefully and answer the questions below by choosing the correct answer. The exercise gives you immediate feedback.

Enable Adobe Flash if prompted. Look carefully at each section (e.g. Agriculture, Children, Death and Burial, Education etc.) and click on each artifact to see more information below. Once you have read it, hit "Back" to return to the set of artifacts and choose the next artifact. Once you've seen them all go to the next section (Children, Death and Burial, Education etc.). To scroll down, scroll with the mouse on the white margin. Send me a screenshot of your answers.

2) The Ancient Greek House Challenge

Select Challenge from the menu on the left. Enable Adobe Flash when prompted.  What you see is a typical ancient Greek house. Click Next and roll over the rooms inside the house. Then click on Start and select one of the two options (e.g. A normal morning). You have to drag and drop the figures below into the right room, each one according to his or her duties. If you do it correctly you get positive feedback  (Yes…) otherwise you get a different message (Not a suitable room.) Once you've placed all the figures into the right rooms send me a screenshot.

As the activities of this lesson take enough time to complete, you will have two weeks' time for your submissions.
