Course : English for year 9 students (Junior High Schools of Evosmos and Stavroupoli) (CEFR: B1+, B2)

The third lesson is a revision of what we studied in units 3 and 4 of the coursebook, with a greater emphasis on technology.

1) First study the timeline I have created for the emergence and evolution of social networks to better understand how technology is constantly evolving, embracing all aspects of our everyday lives:

2) Then click on the Technology & Communication (Revision Test) link and open it in a new tab:

This is a revision test of the vocabulary and grammar we saw in these units. Click on Start at the bottom of the first page to get started. Each page number is at the top right corner. Use the arrow keys before and after the page number to go to the previous or the next page. To save your answers, click on Submit at the top of the page.

 Clicking on Correct Answer at the top of the page shows you the correct answers in total.  Reset clears all the answers on the page and you can fill in new ones if you want.

On page 1 you have to match questions and answers in these short exchanges. Drag and drop your answer to the correct place so that the phrases in each short dialogue match.

On page 2 there's a gap-filling exercise. Fill in the blanks with an appropriate word from Unit 3 to make a collocation.

On pages 3-7 there are True / False questions. Choose the right one from the two options given.

On page 8 there is a gap-filling exercise. Complete the sentences with an appropriate verb.

On page 9  write the verbs in parentheses in the correct form.

On pages 10-14 there are multiple choice questions. Choose the right option and of course click Submit.

On page 15, select the correct answer (word) with the mouse and click on the yellow box above to highlight it in yellow colour.

On page 16 you can see the aggegate test results. Send me a screenshot of the results page.

ATTENTION: In the last exercise, there a mistake due to a system error. I'm giving you the correct answer in the screenshot below:

3) Next you are going to listen to a recording about internet use. Listen to the audio file by clicking on the mic in this link:

As you can see, it includes the transcript of the audio file. Click the "Play" button on the player below the text to listen to the recording. You can listen to it again if you want.
