Μάθημα : Blended Learning: The best of both worlds

In this lesson we are going to revise vocabulary and phrases related to holidays, travel and activities. You are going to find out more about the differences among people and countries all over the world. You are also going to find out what to bear in mind when making a booking.  Finally you are  going to take a travel quiz to discover your ideal travel destination and then write about it and share it with the rest of the class.

1) Open the "Holidays" presentation (ppt) I created to refresh the vocabulary of the unit.

2) Click on the following link:

Flip the pages of the interactive book and read about each penfriend and his country. Do the quiz that follows. Send me a screenshot of the results.

3) Then watch the video (At the Travel Agent's 1) I made in Edpuzzle. It's the language we usually use in a travel agency.

As you will notice, the video pauses and video-related comprehension (multiple choice) questions appear on the right hand side of the screen. Tick the correct answer and move to the next question by clicking Continue. Send me a screenshot of your answers.

4) Next do the quiz to find out the kind of holiday destination that suits you. In the end you get a personalised holiday suggestion! Click "Let's Start"  to get started. Do the quiz  by clicking on the answers you want:

5) Finally write a paragraph about a holiday destination (country or city) you would like to visit. Mention its name, two or three interesting facts, with whom you would like to go and why you want to visit this place. You can also talk about the type of holiday you prefer (e.g. package holiday, camping etc.).

Click on the + in the bottom right hand corner to open a text box. Once you have written your paragraph, you can upload an image of the place if you want.  Do not forget to write your name and class at the end of your post.
