A 12-year old student named John went to the beach one day and he saw it very dirty.He returned home and told his mother about it and she told him the following story: One there was a tide and it brought out many starfish. A young boy was there at the time and he started throwing as many starfish as he could back into the sea. An old man passed by and said to him that his efforts were in vain because he couln't save all the starfish. The boy answered that he would try to save as many starfish as possible and that he wouldn't give up trying. So you see John, his mother said the important thing is to make an effort and that's what really matters. John agreed with his mother and promised to do the best he could to protect the environment.
