High School Chemistry as a teaching subject focuses on the transmission of knowledge and capitals of Chemistry that will help students to pass to the University. Consequently, the time allocated for experimental procedures is small. However, the Science laboratory and experimental work constitute for students their beloved part of the science of Chemistry. Especially in schools with immigrant and refugee student populations, teaching experimental activities can enhance integration and inclusion for these students but also for everybody presents some special characteristics.
Also, digital tools can make our teaching more interesting! Gamification learning excites all type of students and activates their participation. The application of Kahoot platform in chemistry teaching can offer opportunities for developing digital skills and for inclusion of foreign students.
The gender gap in science
Overall, women account for a minority of the world’s researchers. Despite the growing demand for cross-nationally-comparable statistics on women in science, female researchers tend to have shorter, less well-paid careers. Their work is underrepresented in high-profile journals and they are often passed over for promotion.
